You
should be overjoyed you have this wonder new life in your
arms. But deep inside, that little girl within you needs
to be cared for too.
Motherhood
never comes with a manual and in most cases is very unknown.
There are very few occasions when you go into hospital not
really knowing what the outcome will be. For many of us
knowing we require an operation and having to wait for it
- helps us to get our mind round the idea and we cope better.
Maybe
you were lucky and had the birth you hoped for. Maybe you
didn't have a birth plan but the birth didn't turn out like
most births you have heard of.
Many
things contribute to Post Natal Depression and Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder some are listed below
Lack
of care in the hospital
Lack
of compassion and understanding by medical professionals
Traumatic
delivery requiring c-section, ventouse or forceps
Shoulder
Dystocia
Injury
to Baby
Injury
to Mother, including post partum heamoraghing
Poor
pain relief
Isolation
- lack of family and friends support
Colic
- unsettled baby
Worry
about money or baby's health
Your
